MicroLaserPeel™
Does this sound like you?
“I’ve always been active. Years ago I was unaware of the effects of sun and wind on
my skin. Although I don’t feel as old as I sometimes look I’m not ready for surgery or a
long recovery process, but I’d love to look as young as I feel!”
Rough uneven texture, UV damage, age spots, moderate wrinkles, lines, crow's feet,
crepey skin (wrinkling), and blotchiness can be dramatically improved and skin
renewed with a Microlaser Peel®. Advances in laser science make it possible to
perform "surface-repair" on delicate areas such as the face, neck, and décolletage
(chest). A Microlaser Peel® is a perfect solution for individuals looking for dramatic
and lasting results. A Microlaser Peel® removes the surface layers of the skin,
revealing a new, fresher, healthier layer of skin.
What is the MicroLaserPeel™?
MicroLaserPeel, The "Weekend Peel"—treatment on Thursday, back to work on
Monday, is a perfect solution for individuals with busy lifestyles looking for
improvements to their skin's appearance with minimal recovery time. A Microlaser
Peel® offers dramatic improvements in uneven texture, tone, moderate lines and
wrinkles, UV damage, and irregular pigmentation associated with prolonged sun
exposure and aging. Gentle enough to treat the delicate skin around the lips, eyes,
mouth, chest and neck. A Microlaser Peel® offers a minimal recovery time of 3-6
days—"Look Years Younger by Monday."
MicroLaserPeel is the ideal treatment for those patients who want improved skin with
immediate lasting results, little time off, discomfort, or post-treatment care. Sciton's
erbium laser uses a computer-guided scanner to ensure maximum precision and
treatment uniformity.
Who should consider a MicroLaserPeel™?
Anybody looking for better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels
can offer, and has little time for the healing process.
Patients who are pregnant, have a history of radiation therapy to the treatment area,
or who have taken Accutane in the last 2 years should not undergo the
MicroLaserPeel. Although this is a good treatment for shallow acne scars, it is not
appropriate for active acne or deep acne pits. A history of cold sores will slightly
raise your risk of a scar complication, but this is relatively low as all patients are
started on antiviral medication for deeper MicroLaserPeels.
How is the MicroLaserPeel™ different from Microdermabrasion?
Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer (stratum corneum, 10-
15 microns) of the skin. Patients may become dissatisfied when the perceived
results do not equal expense and the number of procedures required.
MicroLaserPeel allows the practitioner to have much greater control over the depth
of the peel than dermabrasion and chemical peels. In addition, there is a favorable
heating which tightens the skin's collagen. The MicroLaserPeel™ is a minimal to full
epidermal peel (20-50 microns). Because this procedure goes deeper into the
epidermis, it is the perfect step.
How often does a MicroLaserPeel™ need to be done?
One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to 12 months, but additional
procedures can be performed as required. Results are lasting. Most individuals
undergo only once or twice in a lifetime. Your physician will determine what is
necessary for you.
What can the patient expect?
Smoother, healthier more vibrant skin. You will notice a significant and immediate
change in skin texture and tightness when compared to microdermabrasion.
Overall Benefits
• Microlaserpeels provide a more youthful look.
• Microlaserpeels provide improved skin texture.
• Microlaserpeels provide improved elasticity.
• Microlaserpeels improve the appearance of acne scars.
• Microlaserpeels are safe, reliable, outpatient procedures.
• Microlaserpeels are relatively painless.
• Microlaserpeels can be performed with local or topical anesthesia.
• Microlaserpeels have fewer unwanted side effects and complications.
• Microlaserpeels can be used on the neck, hands and chest.
• Healing is more rapid because Microlaserpeels cause less redness, swelling
and bruising
What type anesthesia is used?
A topical anesthetic such as Ela-max, Emla or Betacaine Plus is applied thirty to 45
minutes before the procedure.
Do I have to wear any type dressing or bandage after the procedure?
No! Your physician will prescribe an ointment such as Aquafore or Vaseline. This is
used as a barrier to keep the air away from your skin while you grow new epithelium.
You will probably use it for one to two days. After that, a moisturizer can be used.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process varies from patient to patient but will generally take from two to
four days. The procedure can be performed on Thursday or Friday and you can
return to work the following Monday. Immediately following the procedure you will feel
as if you have a bad sunburn. You will have minor sloughing and itchiness by the
third day and the redness will begin to fade. By the fourth day any redness
remaining can be easily covered by makeup.
Your new skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid sun exposure
until fully healed. You need to cover your skin, wear a hat, and use a good sun
screen if your have to go outdoors.
Are there any negatives?
Erythema (redness) after any peeling procedure is expected and this should
dissipate over the next two to four days. The incidence of infection is very low, yet
your healing process will be checked on your post-treatment visits.
There is a slight risk of hyper- (too much) pigmentation in darker skin people. Those
patients with a current suntan are additionally at risk for hyperpigmentation as the
pigment cells are already hyperstimulated. Your EuroSpa Medica physician may
pretreat your skin in an attempt to minimize your pigment reaction. Despite this
pretreatment, temporary hyperpigmentation is anticipated after this procedure for
patients of Hispanic or Asian descent.
Scarring is an extremely rare complication, especially with the Er:YAG laser and the
fact that the MicroLaserPeel does not go very deep. Yet, patients who develop a
wound infection or contact dermatitis are at risk of forming a scar, as are people with
a history of keloid formation.
Can this be combined with other treatments?
We combine this treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic , Injectable fillers such as
Restylane, Perlane, Juveder, Radiesse, and tissue tightening procedures such as
Sciton’s Skin Tyte.
All of these procedures compliment and enhance each other.

Profractional Treatment
EuroSpa Medica's New ProFractional Treatment
offers improved results in less time.
ProFractional Treatment uses a laser micro beam
to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin
resulting in a quick healing time. ProFractional is
able to treat a wide variety of skin conditions such
as wrinkles, skin laxity, photo damage and scars.
The effect is an immediate tightening and lifting of
the skin and underlying tissue. Unlike other lasers,
ProFractional is useful for all skin types and tones
and works on your entire face: forehead, eyes, nasolabial folds, lip lines, chin and
even the neck, chest and hands.
FEATURES:
• ProFractional is an easy procedure: no surgery, no injections.
• ProFractional is a safe, clinically proven way to tighten and contour skin, with
improvements in tone, contour, and texture occurring naturally through the stimulation
of your own collagen.
• A single treatment can tighten your existing collagen and stimulates new
collagen growth.
• Results can last for years depending on your skin condition and aging process.
THE TREATMENT:
The ProFractional procedure is available only in the offices of qualified physicians.
ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the
skin and treated areas stimulate the production of new collagen, plumping up the skin
and smoothing out wrinkles. During the treatment, there is a brief, heat sensation.
Immediately following the procedure you will experience redness resembling a
sunburn-like reaction.
Healing takes about 2-4 days and most patients can get back to work and apply
makeup within 2-3 days after the treatment. ProFractional is typically done in a series
of 3-6 treatments, spaced out 4-6 weeks apart, depending on your needs.
THE TECHNOLOGY:
To understand how ProFractional works, it helps to know a little about how your skin
works. The skin is made up of three distinct layers: a visible outer layer on the surface
called the epidermis, a collagen-rich under layer beneath the surface called the
dermis, and an inner layer beneath the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also
known as the fat layer that has a web of collagen fibers running through it. When the
collagen in these three layers breaks down due to sun exposure, family heredity, or
the normal aging process, your face begins to sag and wrinkle. Treatments that work
on just the surface can't do anything to restore the collagen in the dermis.
ProFractional is a laser procedure that tightens and renews your skin's collagen, also
improving tone and texture.
THE RESULTS:
Clinical studies have shown smoother, firmer, tighter skin immediately after
ProFractional treatment. You may also notice some contouring effects, which will
enhance the shape of your face. Skin improvement as a result of the production of
new collagen and increased tightening and contouring effects continue over time.
The new Profractional skin rejuvenation lasers safely go deep into the skin (see
diagram below) where they can produce more effective new collagen production than
more superficial laser treatments. This new collagen production replaces collagen that
has been damaged by sun, aging, and acne. The new collagen produced can actually
plump the skin wrinkles and acne scars and improve skin texture.
This skin plumping effect can significantly improve wrinkles and acne scars, reduce
enlarged pores, remove pigment and actually improve surgical scars.
POST-CARE:
Your skin will be more sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must
avoid direct sun contact until the skin is healed. Sun protection to avoid sun damage
and premature aging of your skin should be used after treatment.
